The new SUV was distinguished not only by its body, but also by an expanded list of equipment. The equipment was probably transferred from the related budget C3 Aircross.
The Indian division of Citroen continues to stir up interest in the new Basalt crossover coupe. Video teasers of the production five-door model were posted online in mid-July. Last week, the company shared full-fledged branded images, but the “face” of the model was not shown then. Now a video has been published in which the Citroen Basalt is captured from all sides. In addition, the new footage shows the rear of the cabin.

Let us recall that Basalt “grew” from the concept of the same name, which debuted in March of this year. The “Coupe” is the third model of the C-Cubed project, developed specifically for poor markets. This SUV will join the Citroen C3 hatchback and the C3 Aircross crossover (not to be confused with the models of the same name for Europe), which are already being produced in India and Brazil. By the way, the «coupe» will definitely appear in South America too, just a little later.

The production crossover has almost completely retained the design of its predecessor, except that the unpainted plastic body kit was made matte instead of glossy. The stern, of course, is original, but the front of the Citroen Basalt repeated the related Citroen C3 Aircross with a traditional body. However, the Indian cross-coupe still has its own trick: it is supposed to have LED headlights, while the standard SUV is offered exclusively with halogens. The dimensions of the Basalt are still not disclosed. Most likely, it is close to the Citroen C3 Aircross. The length of the latter (in the Indian specification) is 4323 mm, the wheelbase is 2671 mm.
Thanks to the teasers, we know that the front part of the cross-coupe interior was designed in the same style as the C3 Aircross. The Basalt also got a digital instrument panel and a multimedia system with a large «floating» tablet. At the same time, the new product is richer: instead of the usual air conditioner with washers, the SUV has climate control with a push-button remote control, and an armrest box is installed between the front seats (in the C3 Aircross, the armrest is attached to the driver's seat).

As for the gallery, the Citroen Basalt power window buttons are located in the usual places — on the doors, and the air ducts for the rear passengers are installed at the end of the central tunnel. In the C3 Aircross, the rear door power window keys are located behind the parking brake lever, and only the seven-seat version has rear air ducts — they are attached to the ceiling.

The cross-coupe's technology was probably shared with its relative. Thus, in India, the Basalt will be offered with a 1.2-liter gasoline turbo engine (110 hp) in combination with a six-speed manual or automatic. Brazilians will have access to the crossover with a 1.0-liter three-cylinder turbo engine from Fiat, which traditionally for this country runs on both gasoline (125 hp) and ethanol (130 hp), where the model will be equipped with a CVT. In any case, the drive is only front-wheel drive.
The premiere of the Indian Citroen Basalt will be held on August 2. Prices may also be announced then. The «traditional» Citroen C3 Aircross crossover in India now costs from 999,000 rupees (about 1.03 million rubles at the current exchange rate). But the «coupe» will probably be more expensive.
