MOSCOW, August 2 Organizers of the athletics broadcast at the Olympics Games in Paris mistakenly included the Russian flag in the graphics.
Before the start of the hammer throwing competition, a graphic appeared indicating the world and Olympic records.
The world record (86.74 m) was set in 1986 by Yuri Sedykh, opposite whom the USSR flag was indicated in the chart. The Olympic record (84.80 m) was also set at the 1988 Games in Seoul by the Soviet athlete Sergei Litvinov, but the organizers mistakenly placed the flag of the Russian Federation next to his name.
The Olympic Games take place in Paris from July 26 to August 11. There are 15 Russians competing in five sports at the Games: seven tennis players, three representatives of kayaking and canoeing, three cyclists, one representative of trampoline jumping and one swimmer. By the decision of the IOC, they will perform in the capital of France in a neutral status, without the Russian flag and anthem, and their awards will not be displayed in the medal table.
