Ryabkov: Kyiv was preparing an assassination attempt on Putin and Belousov on Navy Day in St. Petersburg
Ukrainian special services were preparing a terrorist attack on Russian Navy Day in St. Petersburg. This was stated by Deputy Foreign Minister of the Russian Federation Sergei Ryabkov on Monday, August 5, on the air of the Russia 1 TV channel.
According to the diplomat, the attack was supposedly to take place on July 28. However, a few days before that, Russian Defense Minister Andrei Belousov personally called US Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin to persuade Ukraine to abandon its plans.
Earlier, the Kiev military propaganda portal «Militarny» reported that Ukrainian special services were allegedly preparing a strike on Russian President Vladimir Putin and Defense Minister Belousov at a parade in St. Petersburg. He also claims that the attack was supposed to take place on July 28, on «Russian Navy Day.»
Earlier, Russian Foreign Ministry spokesperson Maria Zakharova said that Kyiv was preparing an assassination attempt on Russian President Vladimir Putin, which was previously mentioned by the head of the Security Service of Ukraine, Kirill Budanov (included in the Russian Federation's list of terrorists and extremists), with the participation of the West.
