
MOSCOW, August 5 Russian President Vladimir Putin expects that parliament, together with the Cabinet of Ministers and the regions, will continue to work together at the same pace and with the same quality as in the spring session.
«I very much hope that the Federal Assembly, together with the government, together with the regions of the Russian Federation, with the regional teams, will continue to work together at the same pace and with the same quality as it did during the spring session,» Putin said at a meeting with the heads of the Federation Council and the State Duma.
He thanked the Chairperson of the Federation Council Valentina Matviyenko and the Chairman of the State Duma Vyacheslav Volodin for the work they did during the spring session.
The President noted that a lot had been done during the past session, but «we need to constantly keep our finger on the pulse,» since life poses new challenges, the solution of which will require intense work.

«Of course, we need to rest, this short rest is also part of the rights of State Duma deputies and members of the Federation Council as citizens of Russia who carry out their work within the framework of the law,» he added, addressing the chairmen of the chambers of parliament.
The Federation Council closed the spring session on August 2, Matviyenko called it dynamic and eventful. The Federation Council speaker reported that Putin called her on August 1 and asked her to convey words of gratitude to the senators for their professional work during the spring session.
The State Duma ended the spring session on July 31. At the last plenary session, Volodin noted that «the longest session» had ended, which lasted from January to July. In addition, he conveyed words of gratitude from the head of state to the parliamentarians.
