MOSCOW, August 6 The scenario of forced blocking of YouTube in the Russian Federation is not being considered, while slowing down YouTube will not affect the stability of the Android mobile system and other Google services in the Russian Federation, according to State Duma deputy Anton Gorelkin, who wrote about this in his Telegram channel.
«The slowdown of YouTube due to the degradation of caching equipment will not affect the stability of the Android mobile system and other Google services in Russia,» he wrote.
He noted that such a threat could theoretically arise only as a result of forced blocking of the video hosting service, but such a scenario is not being considered because there is an important fundamental condition — retaliatory measures should not harm citizens Russia.
«As for YouTube, there is essentially only one way out today: Google must officially return to Russia to service its equipment, pay fines, reopen a representative office, and comply with local legislation in the Russian segment,» the deputy added.
