MTS Yurent to Increase Fine for Riding Scooters Together

MOSCOW, August 7 The kick-sharing service MTS Yurent supports the proposal of the Moscow Department of Transport to increase fines for riding together and handing over control to minors to 100 thousand rubles; the company will toughen the punishment, the service's press service reported.
Earlier on Wednesday, the Moscow Department of Transport reported on its Telegram channel that it had sent a letter to rental service operators proposing to increase fines for riding together and handing over the steering wheel to children to 100,000 rubles.

«The kick-sharing service MTS Yurent will toughen the penalty for riding together and transferring accounts in the application to a child to 100 thousand rubles. Thus, the operator supports the proposal of the Moscow authorities to increase fines for such violations,» the statement says.
It also specifies that kick-sharing operators have already increased fines for riding together to 5 thousand rubles, and for transferring an account to a child — to 10 thousand rubles.

In addition, MTS Yurent implemented user identification via MTS ID, which allowed blocking 4 thousand accounts of minors in the application. The operator also increased the number of security consultants who identify violators and send information about them to the service support service.
«These measures have already allowed us to reduce the number of trips in pairs and cases of minors riding scooters by 40% in Moscow. However, it is often parents who pass on accounts to their children or ride a scooter with them. We believe that increasing fines for such violations will allow them to be more responsible about traffic rules, their own safety, the safety of their children and all road users,» the press service of MTS Yurent commented.
