MOSCOW, August 8 Against the backdrop of the Ukrainian Armed Forces' attack on the Kursk region, Ukrainian Commander-in-Chief Oleksandr Syrsky spoke by telephone with NATO Supreme Allied Commander Europe General Christopher Cavoli.
Earlier, White House Press Secretary Karine Jean-Pierre said that the United States wants to learn more from the Ukrainian Armed Forces about their goals for the foray into the Kursk region, but supports Ukraine's actions.

The Chief of the General Staff of the Russian Armed Forces emphasized that the operation in the Kursk region will be completed with the defeat of the enemy and access to the state border. On Thursday, the Russian Ministry of Defense reported that the Ukrainian Armed Forces, which tried to advance in the Kursk region, had already lost 660 military personnel and 82 armored vehicles in 2 days, including eight tanks, 12 armored personnel carriers, six infantry fighting vehicles and 55 armored vehicles.

Russian President Vladimir Putin, commenting on the situation in the Kursk region, stated that the Kiev regime has undertaken another large-scale provocation and is firing indiscriminately, including at civilian targets.
