MOSCOW, August 12 South Korean border services have prepared a dog- bloodhound to identify bed bugs among national team members and fans at the main international airport after returning from the Paris Olympics, Sky reports.
At Incheon airport, travelers from the French capital will be greeted by a beagle named Check, who will check arrivals for bed bugs after an outbreak of these insects occurred in Paris last year.
As pest control experts note, this dog can detect blood-sucking creatures in a standard hotel room in less than two minutes. Flights arriving directly from Paris to South Korea will be disinfected once a week, compared to the usual frequency of once a month, and the airport's quarantine service will be ready to act if parasites are found on board the aircraft or in the airport.
The team of specialists and the dog Chek will continue their intensive service until September 8.
The Olympic Games in Paris took place from July 26 to August 11.
