MOSCOW, August 12. On Monday, the Earth was hit by a powerful magnetic storm, the solar astronomy laboratory of the Space Research Institute (IKI) and the Institute of Solar-Terrestrial Physics (ISTP) of the Russian Academy of Sciences reported.
“There is currently a magnetic storm (very strong) occurring in the Earth’s magnetosphere , level G4),» the website says.
As is known, level G4 means a very strong storm on a scale of measurements from G1 (weak) to G5 (extremely strong).
It is noted that between 06:00 and 09:00 on Monday, the magnetic field disturbance level reached G3, and by 15:00 it had already increased by another level.
