ANKARA, August 13 Turkish law enforcement officers have uncovered a cyber network selling personal data to terrorist organizations around the world, and 11 people have been arrested, A Haber TV channel reported.
«As a result of a joint operation by the National Intelligence Organization, the Gendarmerie and the Cyber Incident Response Center (USOM), a cyber espionage network that seized personal data and sold it to terrorist organizations around the world was uncovered, and 11 people were arrested,» the TV channel said.
It was established that the cyber espionage network, which also has offices abroad, transmits personal data obtained from many countries to anyone who requests it, including terrorist organizations.
«As part of the operation, members of the organization were arrested, and many sites were blocked. Work on the investigation, which is under secrecy, continues, and the seized data continues to be carefully analyzed,» the TV channel said in a statement.
