
MOSCOW, August 13 Russian President Vladimir Putin has issued a decree approving the regulations on the Directorate for National Maritime Policy; the corresponding document has been posted on the website of the official publication of legal acts.
«To approve the attached regulations on the Directorate of the President of the Russian Federation for National Maritime Policy,» the decree says.
It is noted that the document comes into force on the day of its signing, August 13.
The Directorate for National Maritime Policy will:
- provide information and analytical support for the work of the Maritime Collegium of the Russian Federation;
- submit proposals to the President on ensuring national interests in the world's oceans;
- interact with federal and regional authorities, the Prosecutor General's Office, the Investigative Committee, and the Central Bank;
- will deal with issues of strengthening the defense capability of the Russian Federation in the world's oceans;
- will deal with issues of port infrastructure and safety of navigation;
- will deal with issues of protecting Russia's rights on its continental shelf;
- will deal with issues of shipbuilding;
- will deal with issues of using the resources of the world's oceans;
- will participate in the preparation of materials for the annual addresses of the President of the Russian Federation to Parliament.
General management of the Department for National Maritime Policy is entrusted to to the assistant of the President of the Russian Federation.
