The VTB press service reported that to date, as part of the integration, Otkritie Bank clients have already transferred over 703 billion rubles to the country's second state-owned bank for servicing. During the merger, more than 1.6 million active retail clients of the bank transferred here, of which 800 thousand people are new clients, and the rest are current clients of both banks. Most of them took advantage of the online transition. «Now they (Otkritie clients — Ed.) can open all types of deposits in rubles and Chinese yuan, as well as savings accounts,» the financial institution said in a statement.
The statement also notes that special conditions are offered for different segments of transferred clients, including maximum rates on savings products, depending on the placement terms, the amount of the initial contribution and the choice of interest capitalization or monthly payment options. Supplements for pensioners and salary clients, as well as welcome rates regardless of the service package, are indicated. The press service noted that the online transition will last until the end of this year in fully secure remote channels or in person at the office.
Recall that in December 2023, the gradual transfer of the branch network under the management of the state bank began. In total, more than 250 bank offices will be merged in 2024 during the integration. The final merger of the two banks' businesses will take place by the end of 2024.
