MOSCOW, August 13 The Directorate for Maritime Policy will submit proposals to the President of the Russian Federation on ensuring national interests in the world ocean, follows from the regulation on the Directorate of the President of the Russian Federation for National Maritime Policy.
The decree of Russian President Vladimir Putin approving the regulation is posted on the website of the official publication of legal information.
«The main tasks of the department are: …preparation and submission to the President of the Russian Federation of proposals on issues related to the implementation of the national maritime policy, ensuring the national interests of the Russian Federation in the World Ocean, development of the maritime potential of the Russian Federation, implementation of maritime activities of the Russian Federation (hereinafter referred to as maritime activities), development of the shipbuilding complex of the Russian Federation (hereinafter referred to as the shipbuilding complex), as well as participation, at the request of the President of the Russian Federation or the head of the presidential administration of the Russian Federation, in the implementation of these proposals,» the document says.
The main functions of the department include preparation and submission to the President of the Russian Federation and the head of the presidential administration of materials on issues related to the use of the resources and spaces of the World Ocean, rational use of aquatic bioresources of the territorial sea, exclusive economic zone and continental shelf of the Russian Federation, other areas of the World Ocean, development of mineral and hydrocarbon resources of the World Ocean and development of offshore pipeline systems; development of the Russian scientific and technical base in the field of maritime activities and marine scientific research; protection of the marine environment, compliance with environmental requirements when carrying out maritime activities.
