NALCHIK, August 14 A state of emergency has been declared in Ingushetia due to crop losses from abnormal heat that exceeded 40 degrees, the regional Ministry of Agriculture reported.
«Based on the results of the survey and establishment of the facts of plant death, members of the interdepartmental commission considered it appropriate to introduce a state of emergency in the territory of municipal entities of the Republic of Ingushetia due to the damage caused to agricultural producers in the region by abnormal natural and climatic phenomena,» the report says.
According to the ministry, this summer the region experienced abnormal air temperatures from 35 to 40 degrees Celsius and higher, in addition, the lack of precipitation for more than 10 days in a row had a detrimental effect on plant vegetation. In these conditions, preventive measures to reduce the risk of crop losses were insufficient.
It is noted that the Ministry of Agriculture and the administrations of municipalities in the region received more than 200 applications to establish the facts of death and damage from natural emergencies.
