Russia and Serbia discussed natural gas supplies to the republic

MOSCOW, August 15 Russian Energy Minister Sergei Tsivilev and Serbian Deputy Prime Minister Aleksandar Vulin discussed supplies of Russian natural gas to the republic, the Russian Ministry of Energy’s Telegram channel reported.
The working meeting took place on Thursday in Moscow.

«The parties considered a number of pressing issues of cooperation in various energy sectors, including the supply of Russian natural gas to the Republic,» follows from the official Telegram channel of the Ministry of Energy.

«I would like to note that planned work is being carried out with Serbian colleagues in the oil and gas sector, as well as in the electric power industry,» Tsivilev was quoted as saying in the report.
Russia supplied Serbia with 2.68 billion cubic meters of gas in 2023, and in 2024 the volume of supplies will exceed 3 billion cubic meters, the head of the state-owned company Srbijagas, Dusan Bajatovic, said in March.
Last year, Bajatovic also spoke about an agreement with Gazprom to increase the volume of supplies in winter from 6 million cubic meters to 11 million cubic meters per day. These conditions are valid under the agreement until June 2025, and the price is calculated using the oil formula, which makes this gas «the cheapest in Europe», about $300 per 1,000 cubic meters.
