CHELYABINSK, August 18 Four people died on Sunday on a federal highway in the Chelyabinsk region in a collision between a heavy truck and a passenger car, the press service reported Main Directorate of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia for the region.
«»On the eighteenth of August, at the 1833rd kilometer of the Moscow-Chelyabinsk federal highway near the city of Chebarkul, a collision occurred between a heavy truck and a domestic passenger car. It was previously established that as a result of the accident, four people died — drivers of vehicles and two passengers of the car VAZ,» the message says.
The department added that State Traffic Inspectorate crews have already been sent to the scene of the accident. Law enforcement officers are establishing all the circumstances and reasons for the incident, the press service concluded.
According to preliminary data from the State Traffic Safety Inspectorate, the driver of a Scania truck with a semi-trailer, when a wheel broke, ran into a metal barrier and flew into the oncoming lane, where it collided with VAZ, Ford Focus and Dongfeng truck. After which the truck slid into the left ditch and caught fire. As a result, the driver and three passengers of the VAZ car, including a girl approximately 10 years old, died. The driver of the heavy truck and his passenger were hospitalized, the department said.
