VAL DI FIEMME (ITALY), Jan 3 Russian skier Alexey Chervotkin took third place in the 15 km mass start in the classic style at the Tour de Ski. The penultimate, fifth stage of the race took place in Val di Fiemme (Italy). The victory was won by the leader of the overall standings, the Norwegian Johannes Klebo (41 minutes 31.2 seconds), the second place was taken by the Finn Iivo Niskanen (20.8 seconds back). Chervotkin was 23.7 seconds behind the winner, Denis Spitsov (+24.5) finished fourth, Alexander Bolshunov (+27.9), who broke a stick in the course of the race, finished fifth. Ivan Yakimushkin finished ninth (+56.2), Ilya Semikov — 15th (+1.25.2), Artem Maltsev — 16th (+1.33.9), Andrey Melnichenko — 26th (+2.14.9), Alexander Terentyev — 32nd (+2.51.1), Gleb Retivykh — 39th (+3.03.2).
