Archival photo VLADIVOSTOK, 6 Jan Scientists of the Land of the Leopard National Park in Primorye received a rare video in which a crow and a Red Book Amur tiger «interact», a spokesman for the Land of the Leopard Federal State Budgetary Institution told RIA Novosti. According to him, the video was filmed in the central part of the national park. On it, a young tiger is resting at the top of a mountain, but a crow begins to croak nearby. At the same time, the predator does not attack the bird and does not show aggression. «The camera trap captured the unusually close communication of wild animals: at a distance of less than a meter, the bird teases with its croaking a predator, which carries communication stoically,» the interlocutor said. According to him, usually predators and scavengers — crows interact differently. These birds, especially in winter, rely heavily on tigers and leopards for their successful hunts. In Primorye, they filmed the «song» of a Far Eastern leopard. In this case, the camera got a completely different story. However, crows are very intelligent and inquisitive birds that are capable of exhibiting similar behavior. The Land of the Leopard is home to the world's rarest large cat, the Far Eastern leopard. According to the latest data, 110 adult of these predators live in the wild in the Russian protected areas. There are over 40 tigers in the national park. The Amur tiger is one of the rarest predators on the planet and is listed in the International Red Book. According to experts, in the fall of 2021, the number of these predators in the Russian Federation exceeds 600 individuals.
