It is unclear whether the Serbian athlete will leave Australia on Thursday or stay in the country while lawyers work on the appeal. Djokovic was unable to pass passport control upon arrival in Australia due to an error in his visa application. A member of Djokovic's team in charge of collecting documents made the mistake of choosing the type of visa that cannot be obtained with a medical exemption from vaccinations. The error was revealed when crossing the Australian border — Djokovic was placed in a room guarded by the police, where he spent many hours. Victoria Legislature Jaala Pulford said Wednesday that the state has no plans to help the athlete obtain a visa to compete in the Australian Open.
