MOSCOW, Jan 7 Russian biathlete Alexander Loginov won the sprint race at the fifth stage World Cup, held in Oberhof, Germany. The athlete covered the distance in 27 minutes 0.8 seconds, with one penalty. Second place went to Frenchman Emilien Jacquelin (two penalties, 6.5 seconds back), third — Norwegian Sturla Legrade (one penalty, +15.1). Russian Anton Babikov finished sixth (no penalties, +23.0), Daniil Serokhvostov — eighth (two misses, +25.8), Alexander Povarnitsyn — 40th (three misses, +1.48.0), Karim Khalili — 45th (four misses, +1.56.8), Maxim Tsvetkov — 52nd (four penalties, +2.05.0) Loginov's victory was the first for the Russian team at the World Cup stages this season. In total, the Russians won three medals: at the stage in French Annecy, Eduard Latypov won two silver medals in the sprint and pursuit, and Kristina Reztsova won bronze in the mass start.
