MOSCOW, 11 Jan. The All-Russian Swimming Federation on its website announced the death of the bronze Olympic medalist Vladimir Dolgov in 1980 in Moscow. It is noted that Dolgov died on Monday at the age of 61. He died after a serious and prolonged illness. Dolgov became the bronze medalist of the Olympic Games in the 100 meters backstroke. He also took second place in the same distance at the Summer Universiade in Bucharest a year later. In 1979, Dolgov won the USSR championship at a distance of 200 meters on the back, and he also won the national championship in the combined relay 4 to 100 (1982, 1983).
