MOSCOW, Jan 15 Russian grandmaster Andrey Esipenko played a draw with the reigning world champion Norwegian Magnus Carlsen in the first round of the tournament in the Dutch city of Wijk aan Zee. The 19-year-old Russian chess player played with white pieces. In other games, Russian Daniil Dubov played a draw with Azerbaijani Shakhriyar Mamedyarov with white pieces, Sergey Karjakin played a draw with Fabiano Caruana from the USA with black pieces.
