After his business trip, Poroshenko will return to Ukraine on January 17 in the morning. Supporters are planning to meet him at the Kiev airport. «Not because I am so inviolable, but there are zero reasons for this. I am sure that (Ukrainian President Vladimir) Zelensky will not do this — he will not shoot himself in the foot. There are no grounds (for detention — ed.), so there is nothing to comment on,» Poroshenko said at a briefing in Warsaw, which was broadcast on his Facebook. Earlier, the press service of the State Bureau of Investigation announced that the Pechersky District Court of Kiev on January 17 will consider a petition to elect a preventive measure for Poroshenko in the case of high treason .Poroshenko accused Zelensky of intending to become a dictatorOn December 17, 2021, Poroshenko, a suspect in the treason case, left the country and went on a diplomatic tour, during which visits to Turkey and Poland were planned. Earlier, the press service of the Ukrainian prosecutor general's office said that the prosecutor's office would ask the court to arrest Poroshenko in a treason case with the possibility of posting a bail of about $37 million.
