Let's Liberate Italy, an anti-vaccination movement, also published a message about Marilli's death, but did not indicate the cause of his death.
“The news of the death of our beloved Luigi Marilli <…> — something that we would never want to receive.
The pain of mourning for Luigi is excruciating, because humanity and kindness of soul were the essence of life for him, ”the movement’s Facebook group says.
In December, Lorenzo Damiano, a well-known opponent of vaccination in Italy, was hospitalized after contracting the coronavirus and reconsidered his views on vaccination and anti-coronavirus restrictions. He stated that he intends to be vaccinated against COVID-19 and urged everyone to do so.
