MOSCOW, Jan 17 Russian chess player Andrey Esipenko defeated compatriot Sergey Karyakin in a game the third round of the international tournament in Wijk aan Zee (Netherlands). The meeting, in which the 19-year-old Esipenko played with white pieces, ended on the 42nd move. Daniil Dubov lost with white pieces to the Indian Vidit Gujrati after the 37th move. The current world champion Norwegian Magnus Carlsen played with black pieces with the Pole Jan-Krzysztof Duda. After three rounds, Gujrati is leading with 2.5 points. Esipenko and Carlsen scored 2 points each, Karjakin and Dubov scored 1 point each.
