MOSCOW, Jan 17 The International Football Federation (FIFA) canceled the yellow cards of players 12 European teams are one warning away from disqualification ahead of the 2022 World Cup qualifier play-offs, according to the BBC. 12 teams will take part in the play-off matches, which will be held according to the play-off system. The playoffs will consist of three paths with four teams each. In each playoff path, teams will play one match in the semi-finals. The finals will also consist of one match. The three winners of the finals of each path qualify for the World Championship. The decision will affect 107 players who had one yellow card left before the suspension. Thus, no player will miss the final match of the playoffs due to a yellow card received at the semi-final stage. However, the changes will not affect players who already have two yellow cards received in the group stage of the qualifying tournament and have not yet served their suspension. They will miss the semi-finals. The Russian team took second place in the World Cup qualifying group. In the semi-finals of the play-offs for the right to go to the world championship in Qatar, the Russian team will play against the Polish team on March 24 — if they win, the Russians will play the mini-tournament final with the Swedes or the Czechs.
