MOSCOW, Jan 18 Head coach of the Russian national football team Valery Karpin and captain national team Georgy Jikia put the Polish striker of Bayern Munich Robert Lewandowski in first place in the voting for the best player of 2021, according to the website of the International Football Federation (FIFA). The winner of the FIFA award was announced at an online ceremony on January 17 in Zurich, Switzerland. Lewandowski won the award for the second year in a row. Karpin put Lewandowski in first place, the Egyptian striker of the English «Liverpool» Mohamed Salah — in second, the French striker of the Spanish «Real» Karim Benzema — in third. Jikia put Cristiano Ronaldo, the Portuguese striker of the English Manchester United, on the second line, and the Argentine forward of the French Paris Saint-Germain, Lionel Messi, on the third.
