"The most anticipated premiere of the year was the fifth-generation Kia Sportage model — 15% of respondents expect the start of sales, scheduled for the first half of the year. About 13% of respondents said they expect the "facelift" version of Lada Vesta, teaser of which "AvtoVAZ" presented on video at the beginning of the year", the experts found out. The company conducted a study in January 2022 among 1,500 Russians across the country.
Also in the top of the expected cars are the Chinese Geely KX11 (11% of respondents are interested in the model) and the Kia EV6 electric crossover (9%). Skoda KAROQ (9%) closes the top five most anticipated premieres (9%). If we talk about the expected trends of the coming year, more than a quarter of Russians (28%) expect an increase in the shortage of new cars on the market in 2022, while 22% believe that the shortage will end soon. Among the trends, Russians also named an increase in the number of online car sales (31%) and an increase in interest in car loans (25%). As for modern technologies, Russians believe that 2022 will be a breakthrough year for autonomous and green technologies — 50% and 45% of respondents, respectively, and also expect widespread use of virtual assistants (41%).
