MOSCOW, Jan 19 National Hockey League (NHL) and league union ( NHLPA) will update testing protocols in early February with a decrease in the number of positive tests for coronavirus, according to the NHL website. The current testing protocol will be valid until February 3. It is noted that the five-day isolation period for those who fall into the COVID protocol will continue, however, provided that the incidence of COVID-19 in the league continues to decline, the protocol will be updated.During the NHL All-Star Weekend (February 4-5), players who passed vaccination, will not be tested for coronavirus, except when necessary for travel or when symptoms appear. There will then be uniform testing, after which players without symptoms will not be tested. Further testing will continue only on a limited basis (when crossing a state border and experiencing symptoms). The hockey player will not be tested for 90 days after suffering coronavirus, but may be tested again at the discretion of the doctor. The NHL and NHLPA will meet on January 31 to make recommendations to mitigate the enhanced measures of the COVID protocol.
