MOSCOW, January 18 The Executive Committee of the International Basketball Federation (FIBA) postponed matches of the Russian women's team in qualification 2022 World Cup from the US to the Dominican Republic, according to the website of the Russian Basketball Federation (RBF). This decision was made due to travel restrictions and the type of coronavirus vaccination by members of the Russian delegation, which is still not recognized in the US. The Russian women's team was supposed to play in Washington in the selection of KM-2022 with the teams of the USA, Belgium and Puerto Rico. The games with the participation of the Russian team will be held in the capital of the Dominican Republic, Santo Domingo. On February 13, the Russians will meet with the Belgian team, on February 14 — with the Puerto Rico team. The match between the basketball players of the USA and Russia will not take place. The top three teams from the group will receive tickets to the final tournament of the World Cup 2022, which will be held in September in Australia. Earlier, the Americans won the right to participate in the tournament as the winner of the 2020 Olympic Games.
