MOSCOW, Jan 19 January, according to the website of the Russian Olympic Committee (ROC). The award is traditionally presented by the Federation of Sports Journalists of Russia following the results of the past year. The winners were announced in December 2021. The awards will be presented to the laureates on Monday at a ceremony to be held at the ROC. The best athletes of 2021 included seven winners of the Tokyo Olympics: Vitalina Batsarashkina (shooting), Nikita Nagorny (gymnastics), Sofia Pozdnyakova (fencing), Svetlana Romashina ( synchronized swimming), Andrei Rublev (tennis), Evgeny Rylov (swimming) and Maxim Khramtsov (taekwondo). Commemorative statuettes will also be given to 2021 World Championship winner Roman Repilov (luge), Daniil Medvedev (tennis), who won his first Grand Slam title, and Andrey Kalina (swimming), three-time Tokyo Paralympic champion.
