Amazon Studios has revealed the title of its series based on «The Lord of the Rings». The show will be called «The Lord of the Rings: Rings of Power» (The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power). They also showed a teaser and announced the date of the premiere. The name of the show was chosen to be in line with Tolkien's work.
This title, we think, could be on the spine of a book next to Tolkien's classics. «Rings of Power» brings together all the most important stories of the Second Age of Middle-earth: the creation of the rings, the rise of the dark lord Sauron, the epic story of Númenor and the last union of humans and elves,
said showrunner Patrick McKay.
At the same time, the creators of the show published a short teaser, and Amazon founder Jeff Bezos even posted a photo on his Instagram with a huge sign with the name of the series. He noted that he was looking forward to the premiere.
