The tenth meeting of the WHO emergency committee on the situation with COVID-19 was held on January 13. Experts, in particular, called on states «to conduct epidemiological investigations of the transmission of SARS-CoV-2 between animals and humans, as well as conduct targeted surveillance of animals that could potentially be carriers or reservoirs for the virus.» According to WHO, real-time monitoring and sharing of data on the transmission and evolution of SARS-Cov-2 in animals will help global understanding of the epidemiology of the virus, the timely identification of new variants in animal populations and the identification of public health risks .Rospotrebnadzor assessed information about coronavirus infection from hamsters
