The British Prime Minister is determined to accelerate diplomatic efforts.
British Prime Minister Boris Johnson will hold talks with Russian President Vladimir Putin. The talks will take place next week, reports the Chronicle.info with reference to RBC-Ukraine.
It is expected that on Monday the British Foreign Office will announce tougher sanctions against the Russian Federation. This means Britain could target Russia's strategic and financial interests, despite US reports of concerns about the amount of «dirty» Russian money in London. American diplomats have expressed concern that any sanctions imposed on Russia would be ineffective due to the sheer amount of Russian wealth in the British capital.
A Downing Street spokesman said the « speed up diplomatic efforts and step up containment to avoid bloodshed in Europe».
Johnson will make an overseas visit «to the region» next week, but Johnson's office did not give details on when and where exactly the trip will take place.
