Hungary says they have received a request from the United States for more troops.
The US decided to send a small number of US troops to NATO countries in Eastern Europe. This decision was made there against the backdrop of the threat of a new Russian attack on Ukraine, reports the Chronicle.info with reference to Channel 24.
This was announced by US President Joe Biden. He spoke to reporters at Andrews Air Force Base upon his return from Pittsburgh.
What Biden said about his intentions
The American leader stressed that he would transfer troops to Eastern Europe in the near future, but he did not name more specific dates . «Not very many (military — 24 channels)», — clarified the President of the United States.
The day before, the Pentagon put 8,500 troops on high alert for possible deployment to NATO countries in Eastern Europe. Biden's words indicate that a certain number of them will go there very soon. According to The Hill, most troops are likely to join the NATO Rapid Reaction Force.
