Leonid Kuravlev died in Moscow at the age of 85 on Saturday, January 30th.
Before that, the star of Soviet cinema was hospitalized in intensive care with suspected COVID-19, and after a recent discharge from the hospital, they were transferred to a hospice for rehabilitation under round-the-clock supervision, reports the Chronicle.info with reference to RBC- Ukraine.
Leonid Kuravlev became ill at Christmas — December 6. He developed breathing problems and his family called doctors. At the hospital, doctors diagnosed pneumonia (pneumonia) and performed a series of tests.
Doctors also identified a number of concomitant diseases in the artist that worsened his condition. He also had to be operated on urgently due to dysphagia — violations of the complex reflex swallowing act. That is, he could not eat.
Recently, after an examination by neurologists, they decided to transfer Kuravlyov to a hospice. The 85-year-old movie star was diagnosed with mixed dementia, as well as cerebrovascular disease, a pathological condition in which damage to the vessels of the brain progresses, and neurons gradually begin to die due to a lack of oxygen and nutrients.

Early years
Leonid Kuravlev — famous Soviet theater and film actor, who was born in Moscow on October 8, 1936. He did poorly at school. In 1978, the son Vasily was born . He works at the Peoples' Friendship University of Russia and holds a PhD in Economics.
Kuravlev also has three grandsons — Stepan, Fedor and Grigory.
Nina Vasilievna was an English teacher and worked as a school principal. She died at the age of 72 in 2012. She was buried at the Troekurovsky cemetery.
The disappearance of Leonid Kuravlev
After the death of his wife, the actor began to lead a reclusive life, and practically did not appear in public. In addition, after the start of the COVID-19 pandemic, Kuravlev moved from his Moscow apartment to his dacha.
