The Prosecutor General's Office of Belarus opened a criminal case on inciting hatred (part 3 of article 130 of the Criminal Code of the Republic of Belarus) against the judge of the District Court of Warsaw Dariusz Lyubovsky, who ruled to refuse to extradite the editor-in-chief of the NEXTA telegram channel Stepan Putilo. “During the meeting, Dariusz Lyubovsky publicly disseminated deliberately false information aimed at inciting ethnic hatred and social discord, insulted and slandered top officials of the Republic of Belarus”, — said in the Belarusian Prosecutor General's Office.
The decision not to extradite Putilo from Poland to Belarus was made on 26 January. As Belsat reported, Lyubovsky said at the meeting that “you can’t give a person away just because a psychopathic dictator wants it.” He also said that “there is no judicial system in Belarus.”
In Belarus, a case was initiated against Putilo on mass riots (Article 293 of the Criminal Code of the Republic of Belarus) and on organizing actions that violate public order (Article 342 of the Criminal Code of the Republic of Belarus) ). He is wanted.
