Despite the global pandemic coronavirus, tourists are willing to plan trips and choose different countries. However, there are still the most desirable destinations for them.
The European Tourism Council decided to conduct a survey to determine which countries travelers plan to visit in 2022.

According to a survey conducted by the authorities, 63% of Brazilians and 45% of Americans want to visit EU countries in the near future, while 57% of Chinese respondents said they would visit them until the end year.
The data of the report also indicate that the younger age category intends to travel to European countries. These are expected to be those aged 18-34 and 35-49.
Desire to travel far in 2022 is stronger among wealthier travelers, and this trend is more pronounced among affluent respondents in the US, Russia and China. Meanwhile, in Brazil, income is less important, and middle- and high-income people feel the same way about traveling a little further from home.

At the same time, according to 29% of respondents, the main factor in the desire to visit the EU remains the level of vaccination in countries. Knowing that the country is coping effectively with the pandemic and that medical protocols are safe in holiday destinations also has an impact.
Which countries in Europe will they choose to travel
The most preferred destination for visiting by international respondents was France. Most of the respondents preferred metropolitan destinations over smaller cities.
Brazilians said they want to visit major cities, and among their top EU destinations are:

- Italy (33%)
- Spain (25%)
- Germany (19%)
The top destinations for Canadians in 2022 are:
- France (32%)
- Italy (26%)
- Germany (19%)
American respondents also want to visit France in 2022. Following them:
- Italy (30%)
- Spain (21%)
- Germany (19%)
At the same time, people from China and Japan identified almost the same countries — France (55%), Germany (34%), Denmark and Italy (31%).
