Russian hockey players did not reach the semi-finals of the Olympic Games

BEJING, Feb 12 The Russian women's team lost to the Swiss team in the quarterfinal match of the Olympic hockey tournament in Beijing. The meeting ended with a score of 4:2 in favor of the Swiss. Phoebe Stanz (35th minute), Dominique Ruegg (48) scored goals for the winners, Alina Muller scored a double (58, 60). Anna Savonina (38) and Polina Luchnikova (57) scored among the Russians. Eight teams reached the quarterfinals of the women's hockey tournament — five from group A and three from group B. Earlier, the teams of Canada and the United States had already made it to the semifinals, beating the Swedes (11:0 ) and Czechs (4:1), respectively.
