Arrows will move on March 27.
About canceling daylight saving time a lot has been said in recent years. But the decision has not yet been made. Therefore, on March 27, 2022 at 03:00 a.m., Ukraine, together with the EU countries, will again move the arrows forward one hour.
Why winter time is more suitable for Ukrainians, how to start preparing in advance so that the body does not went crazy, reports the Chronicle.info with reference to RBC-Ukraine.
Why do we move the hands twice a year? Since then, we have moved the hands forward one hour on the last Sunday in March, and the last Sunday in October back one hour.
But the practice of changing clocks has existed since 1981. The main reason in those years was energy savings. And clock hands are still translated in many countries, although studies have long shown the absence of this saving.
Deputies have repeatedly considered bills to cancel the time switch, and not only in Ukraine, but also in the EU countries. But so far no consensus has been reached. It is still planned to resolve this issue — until 2026. In the meantime, we obediently change the clock twice a year.
Energy savings in recent years is a miser — from 1 to 3%. But the consequences for human health from such a load are very unpleasant, doctors say.
What time suits the inhabitants of Ukraine
It is believed that it is the winter time that is now in force in Ukraine that suits our residents best. But not everything is so simple.
There is a very large geographical distance between the west and east of the country, so it is impossible to enter one time. It will still get dark in Lviv, and the sun will already rise in Kharkov. Children in Uzhgorod will frolic on the street for a long time, and in Dnipro it will be dark after 19:00.
Leaving daylight saving time is also not an option. Because in the morning people in the western part will have to get to work in the dark, and in the evening they will go home.
Scientists are also against such options. Since the number of depressions and nervous breakdowns will increase due to the constant lack of serotonin. And this hormone is associated with daylight and the sun.
The number of accidents on the roads will increase due to the fact that rush hours will fall just at night. And in general, constant wandering in the dark will not have the best effect on many areas of people's lives.
It is even more difficult in the European Union — they have three time zones passing through their territory. And they can’t choose one yet, so the decision was again postponed.
But China somehow managed. And although the territory is also located in different time zones, they all have the same time on all the clocks.
How the clock change affects a person
«Shifting the time zone by at least one hour or changing the time to winter/summer time is, in fact, equivalent to moving a person to a neighboring geographical zone. For people of the older generation, with chronic diseases, this does not pass without a trace», — scientists believe.
They confirm that during periods of change of time there are more exacerbations of chronic diseases, worsening of the condition of people with cardiovascular diseases.
In addition, the tone of the sympathetic nervous system is disturbed, efficiency decreases, depression appears, increased fatigue, sleep problems, and many people have a circadian rhythm.
People endure the transition to summer time especially hard, since the body a person is already tired, with reduced immunity and a lack of vitamins.
How to help the body adapt
You need to start preparing for the transition to summer time in advance. At least for a few weeks. And doctors say that the transition scheme really helps to make this process smooth and almost imperceptible.
Start shifting your regular schedule by 10-15 minutes in the mornings and evenings. Set your alarm for 5 minutes first, then 10 minutes, and so on.
In the evenings, go to bed a little earlier. Also shift the time of dinner and evening procedures — 5 minutes every two or three days.
Black tea and strong coffee should be limited in the diet a week or two before the clock change.
After When you wake up, try to open the curtains first and let the daylight in. But in the evening — move them early so that the body receives a signal to go to sleep.
If there is such a need, sleep at least 30 minutes during the day.
In the morning, take a contrast shower, it will strengthen your vessels and invigorate. And in the evening — a relaxing bath, it will help you fall asleep faster.
Be sure to take walks in the fresh air, preferably in the sun.
If you are prone to depression, try to limit any irritants, stress , heavy activities. Before changing the clock, take a day off for 1-2 days, sleep, read a book, take a walk in the fresh air.
