The Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS) has completed its appeals against the decision of the Disciplinary Committee of the Russian Anti-Doping Agency (RUSADA) to lift the temporary suspension of Olympic figure skating champion Kamila Valieva, according to a correspondent from the scene.

The CAS panel began its meeting on Sunday at 20:30 local time (in 15:30 Moscow time) and lasted 6 hours 50 minutes. The International Doping Testing Agency (ITA) on Friday reported that Valieva’s doping test dated December 25, 2021 tested positive for trimetazidine. The test result was handed over by the anti-doping laboratory in Stockholm on February 8. RUSADA imposed a temporary suspension on Valiyeva, after the athlete's appeal on February 9, it was lifted. The International Olympic Committee (IOC), the World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA) and the International Skating Union (ISU) filed a protest with the CAS, which will decide whether Valieva can compete in the individual tournament of the Beijing Olympics. The decision will be announced on February 14.
