February 11-13, teams of researchers, programmers, journalists, designers and activists from all over Russia participate in the hackathon of socially important data projects of Novaya Gazeta and Teplitsa Social Technologies. This year's theme is «new evidence,» quantitative or qualitative data that undergoes rigorous critical scrutiny and is important to key discussions in the country.
After two days of hard work, 16 projects claim victory and financial support of 220 thousand rubles. Among them: a map of the debt load of Russians, an application for civil air quality monitoring, a study on regional inequality in terms of food and calories, a bot predictor of court decisions on “drug” articles of the Criminal Code, and much more.
On Sunday, On February 13, from 18:00 (Moscow time), the participants will have to defend their works in front of the jury. Watch the broadcast of the hackathon results on the Novaya website and vote for your favorite project (audience voting will be available after the broadcast ends).
