The court did not send DOXA editor Natasha Tyshkevich to the pre-trial detention center due to a visit to the dentist a day earlier than allowed by the judge

The Federal Penitentiary Service asked the court to arrest Natasha Tyshkevich, editor of the DOXA magazine, because of a visit to the dentist. This was reported to Mediazona by her lawyer Alexander Aldaev.

The judge of the magistrate section of the Dorogomilovsky District Court, Anastasia Tatarulya, denied this petition, Aldaev clarified.

According to DOXA, Tyshkevich due to strong toothache went to the dentist a day earlier than allowed by the judge. As a result, the inspector of the Federal Penitentiary Service issued her a report for the violation.

This is not the first time that the Federal Penitentiary Service asks to arrest the editors of the student magazine DOXA, who are under a ban on certain actions. In December last year, representatives of the department asked to send editors Alla Gutnikova and Vladimir Metelkin to the pre-trial detention center because they were late from the wedding, but the court refused.

Four journalists are involved in the DOXA case: Tyshkevich, Gutnikova, Metelkin and Armen Aramyan. They are accused of involving minors in protests in support of the politician Alexei Navalny in the winter of 2021 (paragraphs “a”, “c” of Part 2 of Article 151.2 of the Criminal Code). A criminal case was initiated because of the video on YouTube. In it, the editors urged them to stop putting pressure on students and intimidating them.
