MOSCOW, February 17 Russian Kamila Valieva should be allowed to participate in the championship World Figure Skating Championships in France, Russian Minister of Sports Oleg Matytsin believes. At the moment, Valieva is performing at the Beijing Olympics. Earlier it became known that the doping test of the athlete, taken at the end of December, gave a positive result. The Court of Arbitration for Sport allowed the skater to participate in the individual tournament at the Beijing Games. However, the awards ceremony, if Valieva gets into the top three, will not be held during the Olympics, it will take place after the end of the investigation into the case of the Russian figure skater. On Tuesday, Valieva won the short program, on Thursday the skaters will perform a free program. «As for the timing of the investigation, I think some separate decision will be made. Until the athlete is suspended from participation in the competition, if a final decision is not made before the championship world, it seems to me that the athlete should be admitted to the tournament,» Matytsin said on the air of the Russia 24 TV channel. The Olympics will end on February 20. The World Figure Skating Championships will be held in Montpellier from 21 to 27 March.
