BEIJING, Feb. 20 The Russian team took second place in terms of the number of awards won at the Winter Olympics in Beijing. Russian athletes have 32 medals — six gold, 12 silver, 14 bronze. Only Norwegians have won more awards (37). In the medal standings (counted by the number of gold medals), the Russians finished ninth. The Norwegian team won (16-8-13), the second was the German team (12-10-5), the third — the Chinese team (9-4-2). In total, representatives of 29 teams managed to win medals. The Belarusian team has two silver medals, the Ukrainian team has one. Norwegians have won the medal standings for the second consecutive Olympic Games.
