MOSCOW, Mar 8 attempted murder of former UFC heavyweight champion Cain Velasquez, MMA Junkie reports. Velasquez was arrested Feb. 28 after the shooting incident. He pursued the car of 43-year-old Harry Gularte, accused of molesting a relative of Velasquez, rammed the car and fired several shots, injuring Gularte's stepfather. The San Jose Police Department (USA) has charged a 39-year-old ex-MMA fighter with attempted murder. Velasquez was placed in the main prison of Santa Clara County, California. Judge Shelina Brown considered the alleged actions of the athlete “reckless” and the risk if he was released from custody “too high.” The next court hearing is scheduled for April 12, Velasquez will remain in custody. Velasquez last fought in February 2019. After that, he participated in WWE wrestling fights. Velasquez was a two-time UFC heavyweight champion.
