MOSCOW, March 9 Kyiv Mayor Vitali Klitschko called on the US authorities to prevent holding a fight against the Mexican Saul Alvarez and the Russian boxer Dmitry Bivol. The fight between Bivol and Alvarez is scheduled for May 7 and should take place in the American Las Vegas. This sanction is not against an individual athlete, but Ukraine needs the whole world to put pressure on Russia,” said former WBO and WBC heavyweight champion Klitschko, quoted by Marca newspaper. Bivol is the reigning WBA super light heavyweight champion weight (up to 79.4 kg), his belt will be at stake in a duel. Alvarez is the absolute world champion in the second middleweight (up to 76.2 kg). In total, Bivol has 19 wins (11 by knockout) and no losses in professional boxing. Alvarez spent 60 fights, scoring 57 victories (39 by knockout) and suffering one defeat, two more fights ended in a draw.
