Kostroma priest fined 35,000 rubles for anti-war sermon

The Krasnoselsky District Court of the Kostroma Region fined Priest John Burdin 35,000 rubles for an anti-war sermon. This was reported by Network Freedoms.

The priest was found guilty under the new article 20.3.3 of the Code of Administrative Offenses (public actions aimed at discrediting the use of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation).

As stated in the protocol , rector of the Resurrection of Christ in the village of Karabanovo, Kostroma Region, “inspired the parishioners with information about the presence of the RF Armed Forces in Ukraine and the murders of Ukrainian residents, “brothers and sisters in Christ.” The priest also published a link to an anti-war petition on the parish website.

“There are simply basic concepts on which our human civilization stands – this is the impossibility, the inadmissibility of shedding human blood. This is what I first wrote about and then told during a sermon on Sunday [March 6],” Burdin told Mediazone.
