MOSCOW, March 11 Russian President Vladimir Putin congratulated Hungarian President Katalin Novak on his election, expressed hope for the development of mutually beneficial Russian-Hungarian ties, the corresponding telegram was published on the Kremlin website. At a meeting on Thursday, the National Assembly of Hungary elected the vice-chairman of the ruling party led by Prime Minister Viktor Orban Fidesz, Minister for Family Affairs, Youth and International Relations, as the new president of the country Katalin Novak. 137 out of 199 deputies voted for her. «Dear Mrs. Novak, please accept my sincere congratulations on your election as President of Hungary. I hope that your activities in the presidency will contribute to the further development of mutually beneficial Russian-Hungarian ties,» the congratulation says. He wished Novak success, as well as good health and well-being.
