MOSCOW, Mar 11 Oleg Taktarov, the first UFC champion from Russia, spoke about the inclusion former lightweight champion Khabib Nurmagomedov to the UFC Hall of Fame.
"I give a standing ovation to UFC President Dana White, who has remained true to his profession and has not moved to the right or left of possible pressure and has not succumbed to the vogue of Russophobia. He did not show any manifestation of Nazism and at that moment went against the crowd of public opinion and that's great. I do not remember before such steps from him, but it deserves great respect. He said that he had his own company, he pursued his own policy and did not care about what was happening in the world, he had his own business and sports. He has a core, he is a professional. This is a great step and he doesn’t care about any sanctions", — quotes the words of Taktarov"RBC-Sport".
Nurmagomedov was included in the Hall of Fame during the UFC 272 tournament, which was held in Las Vegas 6 Martha. The Russian retired from martial arts in October 2020 after his third successful lightweight title defense. In total, Khabib had 29 fights, in which he won 29 victories.
